Multi-Sector Pandemic Preparedness

In order to enhance disaster preparedness and response capacities within Bhutan, UNDP is supporting the Royal Government of Bhutan to develop multisector pandemic preparedness planning. The capacity of 11 key sectors will be developed through trainings, simulation exercises and formulation of business continuity plans.

The expected outcomes of this project are:

  • Strengthened Taskforce and Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee as the coordination mechanism for multi-sector pandemic preparedness planning
  • Increased awareness and capacity of 11 key sectors to respond and prepare for a pandemic through formulation of Business Continuity Plans
  • Sharing of lessons and experiences in multi-sector pandemic planning with other developing countries
